Black Sucker Fish – Common Pleco (Hypostomus plecostomus)

The Black Sucker Fish, commonly sold as the Common Pleco or Suckermouth Catfish, is a hardy bottom-dwelling catfish known for its sucker-shaped mouth and armoured body. It grazes on algae and biofilm but should not be expected to survive on aquarium algae alone. A balanced diet of sinking foods and vegetable-based foods is important.
